In July 2026, the summer training camp was once again held at the Tennis Academy. Unfortunately, the accommodation prices were increased significantly, which meant that no Ukrainian athletes were able to participate.
After getting an overview of the athletes’ current performance levels, we started working on learning and developing their programmes on Tuesday. In particular, putting together the programme for the four-person student team (Tomi, Iszabella K., Hanga and Lili) proved to be a challenge. Thanks to the great cooperation between Lívia, the children and myself, we were able to put together a programme without any steiger elements.
By Friday, they had already successfully completed a two-person round with steiger elements, so the foundations have been laid for what we hope will be a successful future.
We wanted to form a junior team around the slightly older athletes Alexa and Iszabella T. We are very grateful that Reni is supporting the team and contributing her international experience.
The fourth position will be taken by Lili, who, like Reni, will therefore compete in two teams. Although this means there is now an eight-year age difference within the team, they are doing a great job together.
The goal for the European Championships is to successfully perform a raiser backwards.
The Elite Team remains in the same line-up as at the last World Cup: Lívia, Niki, Panna and Reni. Unfortunately, only Reni is currently able to perform a full round with all steiger elements backwards, which makes learning new exercises particularly challenging for the team.
All three teams will compete in the Kisvárda Kupa in mid-September, the third round of the Eastern European Cup, as well as in the Bokodi Kupa in November, which will be the final round of the Eastern European Cup and the Hungarian Championships. The goal is clear: to win the Hungarian Championship title in all three age categories!
For the junior team, participation in an international four-person team training camp in Austria is also planned for November.
For the Elite Team, the highlight of the season should once again be the World Championships. We hope that, with the support of ICWW and the Hungarian federation, participation can be made possible.
Next year, we hope that Kata will receive her licence again and be able to compete at the World Championships together with Reni, Niki and Panna. Lívia can then fully focus on her role as a coach.
All four young women will graduate from school in summer 2027. What happens afterwards remains to be seen, as all of them are planning to continue their studies.
Strengthening our youth development programme is, of course, another important goal.
Another objective is to host a World Cup event again – this time, however, with a ACT4 team from Kisvárda competing as well!
In terms of sporting success, I personally dream of winning an international medal within the next ten years – whether at the European Championships, World Championships or a World Cup does not matter.
Unicycling is also practised in Kisvárda. Lívia has decided that all children should first learn to ride a unicycle before they are allowed to start practising steiger elements. Four-person unicycle riding is presented as a show performance, but is not currently pursued as a competitive discipline.
