As part of indoor cycling’s promotional activities, a demonstration of cycle-ball and artistic cycling was held on Friday 28 September alongside the UCI Congress. The 2017 UCI World Championship silver medallists – Austrian duo Patrick Schnetzer and Markus Bröll – took on current UCI World Champions Gerhard and Bernd Mlady (Germany) in exhibition cycle-ball matches. In artistic cycling, the German Women Pairs team of Julia and Nadja Thürmer presented a varied and spectacular programme.
This initiative allowed representatives from National Federations to view performances live, and become more familiar with these two disciplines.
The Indoor Cycling World Wide (ICWW) organisation also was in attendance to provide information on possible development activities and the support that the ICWW can offer National Federations.
