The First Cycle Ball Training Camp Organized by ICWW in Johor Bahru
The first Radball training camp organized by ICWW took place from February 10th to 17th, 2025, in Johor Bahru.
For this time period, the “Velodrome Iskandar Puteri” was reserved for us, offering enough space for spectators and drawing a large crowd. Many curious young spectators were excited and inspired by Cycle-ball during the camp, as some were able to successfully complete their first exercises right away.
The training camp welcomed 6 players from Malaysia, 2 players from Thailand, 5 players from Hong Kong, as well as Peter and myself. Additionally, 5 young or beginner players from Malaysia also participated.
The training content included daily physical fitness routines and Cycle-ball specific sessions such as game tactics, shooting practice, goalkeeper training, corner ball drills, circuit training, practice matches, and basic balance and technique exercises for the beginners.
In the evenings, we gathered in cozy local restaurants to reflect on the day’s experiences and enjoy cheerful moments together.
To conclude the camp, a tournament with 7 teams was held. It was met with enthusiastic applause from the spectators and ended with a celebratory award ceremony led by the president of the Malaysian Cycle-ball Federation—an honorable and joyful closing to a successful week.
All participants greatly enjoyed the experience, and a second training camp is already being planned for 2026.
Lastly, I was asked by the Thai participants to express their sincere thanks for covering the flight costs. They were truly grateful.
