ICWW protégés stronger than ever at the 2025 World Championships

The sponsors of Indoor Cycling World Wide did a fantastic job, bringing their athletes to the Indoor Cycling World Championships in Göppingen in top form. With three medals and four additional final appearances, the ICWW partner nations achieved their best results ever.

Semeul Shing and her Hong Kong team likely held their last World Championship preparation training camp in Erlenbach. There, Rolf Halter whipped the entire Hong Kong team into impressive World Championship shape. In the Open Pairs Artistic category, both duos from the Chinese metropolis qualified for the World Championship final, guaranteeing them at least one medal. The Lim brothers built on a strong preliminary round, scoring 123.27 points and securing the silver medal behind the dominant defending champions, Lea Styber and Nico Rödiger. Bronze went to the second German pair, Niklas Kreuzmann and Celine Stapf.

Team Hong Kong also won a bronze medal in the ACT4 discipline. Semeul Shing’s protégés secured third place after a thrilling race, finishing ahead of the French four.

Yat Nam Chan also hoped for a medal in the men’s singles. With 163.9 points, he narrowly missed out on the bronze medal, finishing behind Csaba Varga, who was justifiably thrilled to win Hungary’s first-ever World Championship medal.

Magdalena Müller rounded out the many strong performances from the ICWW’s perspective with a fourth-place finish in the women’s singles final.

In addition to these top finishes, the ICWW’s record also includes Argentina’s first-ever participation in the World Championships. ICWW sponsors also supported the World Championship competitors from Peru, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Malaysia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Armenia, and Great Britain in Göppingen.

The ICWW sponsors will meet in early 2026 to jointly plan activities for the new season. The English derby is set to host, among other events, the World Championship premieres for Rwanda in artistic cycling and Thailand in cycle ball. The success story is to continue…
