Eastern Europeans meet again traditionally in July in Kolárovo

Fun in the successful & training-intensive Indoor Cycling East-EU Training Camp

From 10 July to 15 July 2023 our annual traditional East-European Indoor Cycling Training Camp took place again in Kolaróvo, Slovakia, under the direction of Andrea Hajdù and me. The conditions were optimal and the weather was also very good! All in all, about 30 participants from Hungary and Slovakia took part in the whole camp. On Friday, we were joined by our Ukrainian sports friends, a guest athlete from Germany and, for the Cup on Saturday, our Czech athletes.

The training days were very well structured and the athletes were motivated to give their best. The registered athletes were divided into three groups and could work on their exercises for 3 hours a day. Due to the large number of athletes, a wide range of knowledge was demanded of us coaches, which was a lot of fun. The athletes wanted to learn everything from headstands and front steer stands to various riser turns in order to improve their programmes for the next season. For the elite riders, the focus was on preparing for the upcoming UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow in August.

After the intensive training week, the East-European Cup on 15 July 2023 was traditionally held successfully on one surface. With the international jury with Dori (SK) and Anita (HU) as scribes, Martin Schön (HU) and I were able to act as announcers throughout.

Many thanks to all participants, good luck to all nominees for the World Championships in Glasgow, stay healthy and see you next year,

Yours, Enrico
