From October 2nd to 6th, 2025, the “Thailand Open,” organized by ICWW, took place in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.
Building goals and playing field barriers together was a great way to get to know each other, the local area, and the sports hotel.
Players from Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Belgium, Germany, Thailand, and a women’s team from Hong Kong competed in exciting and fair matches in an international atmosphere. New contacts and friendships strengthened the Asian cycle ball community. Eight teams in two groups ultimately crowned the winners from Hong Kong and Belgium.
Other highlights of the event included excursions to an elephant sanctuary, spectacular waterfalls, Thailand’s highest peak, and a typical Thai karaoke evening, all of which were enthusiastically attended by the participants. Of course, the world-famous Thai cuisine was also thoroughly enjoyed and praised.
At a final tournament with randomly drawn teams, the different tactics and playing strengths could be tested and shared.
The unanimous desire to follow up this first event in Thailand with a sequel confirmed the impressions and feedback gained.
